| Description | Empower Me is a child abuse prevention program that teaches safety skills to children ages 3-12. There is also a training available for adults to educate them about the Empower Me program. About the program: Empower Me teaches us that - • All kids are special and deserve to be safe • Most grown-ups want kids to grow up to be healthy, happy, safe and strong • Empower Me does NOT teach stranger danger because children and teens are much more likely to be victimized by someone they know • More than 90% of abductors/abusers are known to the child Instead we teach children that if any person tries to make us break our safety rules OR any person who gives us the uh-oh feeling— we tell one of our five trusted adults. |
