| Description | Housed at Christ Church and staffed by church volunteers, the Pantry is supported through individual private food and financial contributions, the annual food drive organized by our local Boy Scout troop, and donations from area businesses and organizations. It serves any Talbot County resident requiring food assistance and is open from 9 to 11 AM each Monday and from 1 to 3 PM each Thursday, with no restriction on frequency of Pantry visits. A satellite program on Tilghman Island operates out of the Tilghman United Methodist Church. The Pantry also provides complete Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, with help from our youth group and additional volunteers to assemble and distribute the boxes. To assure the broadest possible service to our client families, we work with area churches, community groups and other food pantries. |
