Tilghman Island residents will again kick off the holidays on December 9, 2017. Please join us for a cocktail party at The Bridge Restaurant at 5:30 p.m. Meet Santa at 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in one of the classrooms at Phillips Wharf and enjoy some cocoa and cookies. The Great Crab Pot Tree Lighting will follow at 6:30 p.m. on the Phillips Wharf Campus. The tree lighting will be followed by the lighted boat parade at 7:00 p.m. and the awards ceremony at 7:45 p.m.
“This has become a highlight of the Christmas season for the island,” explains Kelley Cox, executive director of the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, the organization spearheading the celebration. “While it’s a local tradition, we welcome everyone to come see us and enjoy the beauty of the season.”
The Tidwater Inn will be offering FREE carriage rides for five days only during the holiday season! Don’t miss the opportunity to see downtown Easton in old-style fashion during the most wonderful time of the year!

The Museum will be having a Family Ornament Day on Saturday, December 12 from 10:00-1:00. Admission is free, but signing up ahead of time is very helpful for us.
Family Art Days are designed for children ages 6 and up with their parents, guardians or mentors.
According to the Child Development Institute, “Families can create a harmonious balance in their children’s lives when they make provisions for the arts.” The site goes on to offer lots of ways that parents can incorporate art in their families’ lives and closes by advising, “The most important ingredient in the recipe is your interest. Be there to appreciate and encourage during every step of the creative process.” What better way to spend quality time with your child than to come to the Academy Art Museum and work together on a project?
