Talbot Goes Purple – Chris Herren

September 19, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

Chris Herren is coming to Talbot County to speak about addiction!

Talbot Goes Purple is a substance abuse awareness program that will engage our community and youth to stand against substance abuse. The project is based upon THP Project Purple, an initiative of The Herren Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation established by former NBA basketball player, Chris Herren, that assists individuals and families struggling with addiction.

Chris Herren is coming to Talbot County for two in-school assemblies on Sept. 19 and 20, and for a community event at 7 p.m. Sept. 19. Leading up to his visit, and throughout the month of September, Talbot businesses and communities will ‘Go Purple’ as a show of community support and solidarity in addressing our substance abuse problem.

Talbot Goes Purple also includes implementing in-school Purple Clubs and prevention programs.

Talbot Goes Purple is an initiative from Talbot County Sheriff’s Office and Tidewater Rotary, in partnership with Talbot County Schools and Mid-Shore Community Foundation.
