The 8th annual Empty Bowls community dinner to benefit Talbot County food pantries will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016 with two seatings, from 5 to 6 PM and from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, available.
Presented by Talbot County Empty Bowls volunteers, the dinner raises funds for and awareness of hunger in our community, one bowl at a time.
Tickets MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. Checks for tickets or donations can be mailed to Mid-Shore Community Foundation 102 East Dover Street, Easton, MD 21601 or charged online at https://mscf.givezooks.com/events/talbot-empty-bowls-2016
In case of very inclement weather, the event will be cancelled. Tickets/sponsorships will not be refunded; proceeds will be distrbuted to Talbot County food pantries as planned. We will make every effort to make the bowls avaiilable to ticket holders shortly after the event or at the Farmers Markets in the summer.
Community support for the dinner continues to grow. The event has sold out for the past five years. We are hopeful that the structured seating times will accomodate more of our generous community members than we have been able to welcome in the past.
For the price of the ticket, dinner guests choose a bowl (to keep) from the hundreds that have been painted at Clay Bakers, donated by local potters or bowls made and decorated by art students from Easton High School and St. Michaels Middle-High School. The bowl selection process is a very special part of the event. With so many bowls to choose from, it’s easy to find the perfect one! Once chosen, the bowl will be filled with soup from a wide selection of donated soups and chili (including vegetarian options). Guests are welcome to enjoy unlimited servings. Donated bread, cider and dessert round out the meal.
THANK YOU FOR JOINING US IN THE FIGHT TO END HUNGER IN TALBOT COUNTY, ONE BOWL AT A TIME.
