Christmas on the Creek – Oxford

Christmas on the Creek is a weekend of enjoying the village during the Holiday Season. Saturday, December 4th starts early at the Church of the Holy Trinity with it’s fantastic Christmas bazaar at 9am! There will be decorated wreaths, arrangement of greens for table centerpieces, frozen chicken pot pies, soups and lasagna, baked cookies and other items, decorated mini trees, three beautiful large baskets containing items which will be donated to three local charities (everyone has the opportunity of contributing a donation to your basket of choice), Venders will be showing their work, a children’s table with a project and a mail box for letters for Santa, a tree donated from the Festival of Trees will be sold in a silent auction. and a hospitality table with hot chocolate and goodies will be free for all to enjoy.
Meanwhile, many volunteers gather at the OVFC to assemble the dock trees. The hard working dock trees committee sets out over 60 beautifully lit trees along the Causeway and beyond to light the waterways ablaze with hope and best wishes for all who enjoy the spectacular sight. If you are new to town and want to lend a hand, check in at 9am.
At 6:00pm The Town Parks and Rec team create a magical world at the Town Park for all to enjoy seeing and hearing young families as they have cookies and hot chocolate and welcome Santa who arrives atop the OVFC fire engine with a big Ho Ho Ho!
Meanwhile, a group of carolers led by the famous Maureen Curtin and friends, will be singing from the porch at Pope’s Tavern to serenade the season. Hot chocolate and nibbles are available thanks to the Oxford Business Association. Thank you Scott and Jeanne for hosting us! It’s the perfect spot to adore the lit dock trees!!!! Hopefully the many villagers will join us after Town Park. We might even see Santa at Pope’s too!!
The shops in town and the open restaurants will be offering specials all weekend! The Treasure Chest, Mystery Loves Company, the Oxford Market and Oxford Vintage & Trade have unique gifts and special items sure to please anyone in your world. #ShopLocal Please note that Oxford Vintage & Trade is temporarily located by the post office at DiMillo’s!
